July 20th, 2010 - BBI’s tradition of successful projects in Tigert Hall continues. The Tigert Hall North End Renovations project is complete and the occupants have moved in furniture and office equipment. The 5065 SQFT space will house the office of the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Matthew Fajack, and the office of the Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), Elias G. Eldayrie. ![]() July 10th, 2010 - BBI is proud to have been involved in one of the first solar panel projects at the University of Florida. The Photo Voltaic Pilot Project at the Museum of Natural History entailed the application of a highly reflective, elastomeric coating which protects the roof membrane from UV damage before the photo voltaic roof panels were installed. The panels will help supplement the power usage at the Museum of Natural History.
June 24th, 2010 - Interior improvements of the Autopsy Suite at the J. Hillis Miller Health Science Center located on the University of Florida campus have been completed. The 1,200 sqft renovation project presented BBI Construction Management with a series of unique challenges including managing jobsite logistics within a fully occupied facility and coordinating installation of highly specialized medical and mortuary equipment.
June 13th, 2010 - The Hawthorne Road Café, which marks another partnership between the Gainesville CRA and BBI, is nearing completion of the shell space. The exterior walls, interior rough-ins and all underground utilities are all complete. Next, the schedule calls for the finishing of the parking lot and site concrete.

Pictured on right: Bob Miller, Pete Pace, Miles Albertson, Faylene Welcome and Harold Barrand) ![]() April 1st, 2010 - The City of Gainesville Administration Building project celebrates a major milestone in the construction of the building structure as the team begins raising newly constructed composite tilt wall panels. The wall panels were formed on a temporary casting surface near the building footprint, allowed to cure, and then tilted to vertical with a crane and braced into position as the team prepares to install and secure the remaining building structural components. ![]() BBI won an Honorable mention Award, Division III - Commercial for Infinite Energy Phase IV in the National Commercial Builders Council (NCBC) of the NAHB 2009 Awards of Excellence competition! November 13th, 2009 - The City of Gainesville Administration building project is under way. Security fencing is up and site work is bid out and ready to begin next week! August 19th, 2009 - The Norman Hall Additions Project on the University of Florida campus has reached final completion! ![]() July 16th, 2009 - BBI Construction Management has been selected by the Community Redevelopment Agency Board for construction management services for minor projects! ![]() Despite inclimate weather, Infinite Energy held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemourate the completion and occupation of their Phase IV building. There was barbecue, music and plenty of socializing as members of the BBI staff, along with Infinite Energy employees and Gainesville Mayor Pegeen Hanrahan celebrated the occasion. February 18th, 2009 - BBI has been selected as the Design-Builder for a two story, 17,000 sqft. addition to an administration office at the Public Works Compound on December 1st, 2008 - The Santa Fe College, Charles L. Blount Downtown Center Bathroom Renovations project has reached final completion. ![]() November 14th, 2008 - The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Center For Exercise Science at The University of Florida was a great success. There were several UF employees present as well as team members from BBI Construction Management and Cadwallader & Associates (Engineers). For pictures of the completed project, click here. ![]() November 9th, 2008 - Bikers On Parade 2008 was a huge success! Under beautiful blue skies, BBI was a proud sponsor of over 1000 motorcyclists on a 23 mile ride to benefit the North Central Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross and local Veteran Organizations. October 24th, 2008 - The Florida Gym A/C Replacement Project located on the University of Florida campus has reached substantial completion. There is a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled on November 15th. ![]() September 26th, 2008 - BBI was a proud sponsor for the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce Pro-Ed Golf Tournament. The weather was cooperative and there was a large turnout of 130 golfers from all areas of Gainesville business. September 11th, 2008 - BBI attended the Blue Book GC Showcase in Jacksonville, Florida. There was a large turn out of subcontractors and vendors from all around Florida. For a look at the completed photos of this and many other BBI projects, click here. April 28th, 2008 - The GRU Kelly Plant Office Renovation project is complete. The office is ready for occupancy and GRU employees have begun moving in furniture. March 6th, 2008 - Infinite Energy Phase IV is complete and the building is occupied. The 36,000 SqFt office building boasts a Fitness Center and a Walking Trail. BBI is proud to be a part of the team that contributed to this mile stone event in the continued growth and evolution of Infinite Energy! For pictures of the completed building, click here.
February 6th, 2008 - The Santa Fe Community College building "T" project is moving along steadily. The generator has been set, the Cap Stone has been delivered, and the metal roof panels are scheduled to be installed the week of February 11th.
February 4th, 2008 - Infinite Energy Phase IV is in the final stages, including final clean up. The owners are assembling modular furniture and are planning to move in mid February.
January 10th, 2008 - The Florida Museum of Natural History lobby renovations project on the University of Florida campus is making significant progress. The demolition of existing slate flooring is completed. Steel stud framing is currently in progress as preparations occur for new stained concrete flooring.
January 2nd, 2008 - The Black Hall Re-Roofing and Mechanical Upgrades project on the University of Florida campus is nearing completion. Fume hoods and exhaust fans have been upgraded and the final roofing components are being applied.
December 7th, 2007 - The Hawthorne High School Renovations / Remodeling and Additions project has reached substantial completion. The crew is currently working on the punch list, which should be completed soon.
December 5th, 2007 - The GRU Kelly Plant Office Renovation is beginning to take shape. Mechanical and electrical rough-in continues as the walls are being built. ![]() October 25th, 2007 - Students and building construction professionals from Alachua and the surrounding counties gathered to interact and network at the 2007 SFCC Career in Construction Day. This yearly event helps to promote an expanding technical program at Santa Fe Community College while introducing students to a variety of construction related careers. BBI showcased a wealth of talent and experience by installing an impressive exhibit filled with striking job photos, intriguing slide show and construction documents to help inspire a receptive, interactive atmosphere. In cooperation with program directors from SFCC and BBI's willingness to support the community, the event was a total success.
October 8th, 2007 - The roof deck is being installed on the Infinite Energy project and the building will be dried in within the next two weeks. This will open up all of the other trades to begin work inside the building. MEP rough in is almost complete inside on all floors and wall framing will be completed within the next two weeks as well.
October 2nd, 2007 - GPD hosted a Grand Opening / Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the new Police Administration Building. There were many members of the BBI staff present as well as several former police chiefs, the Gainesville Sun, WCJB, and WUFT.
October 1st, 2007 - Scheduled to commence on October 8th, 2007, the Santa Fe Community College Brick Memorial project will commemorate those faculty and staff who have retired from the college since its establishment by the Florida legislature in 1965. The memorial will be located just south of the school's library and will be part of a highly visible and well traveled walkway. After an area of the existing walkway is removed, a 16'-10" diameter circle composed of about 737 brick pavers lying flat locked in by a row along the perimeter of about 250 bricks standing on edge will be constructed. The brick pavers lying flat will feature engravings showing information such as name and years of service for each former employee being honored. Centered in the memorial will rest a 3' diameter granite engraved monument with the school seal depicted. The project is scheduled to be complete by November 27th, 2007.
September 6th, 2007 - The additions and renovations at Hawthorne High School are moving forward. The remodel of the principal and vice-principal's office is in the punchlist phase. Buildings 9, 11 and 13 brick work is nearing completion and the new roofs on the additions are being dried in.
September 3rd, 2007 - The demolition is complete at the GRU Kelly Power Plant Office Remodel job. Structural steel is currently being fabricated and should begin being installed in the next few weeks.
August 9th, 2007 - The renovation/remodel/addition at Hawthorne Jr./Sr. High School is making good progress. In the next month BBI will be installing the roofs on buildings 9, 11, and 13. In building one BBI is installing the carpet and finishing touches so that the administration can move in before the start of the school year.
July 11th, 2007 - The Infinite Energy project has successfully advanced to the point at which third floor structural work and first floor rough-in work are in progress. Specific ongoing work includes the third floor structural, second / third floor masonry walls, first floor MEP rough-in and first floor wall framing.
July 9th, 2007 - BBI is reaching the final stages of construction on the GPD Administrative Services Building. Interior finishes including carpet, tile and cabinetry are currently being installed.
June 4th, 2007 - The first floor structural work is complete at Infinite Energy and the composite deck was poured on Tuesday, June 5th. Rough-in has already begun on the 1st floor and will start on the second floor as soon as it is up. For current pictures of the Infinite Energy project, click here.
May 22nd, 2007 - Davis Monk is being wrapped up. The only outstanding task is the sign out front, which will be finished in stone to match the building. Davis Monk & Company won the City of Gainesville Beautification award for the most improved property in the city.
April 29th, 2007 - The early stages of the Infinite Energy Phase IV project have progressed in a timely manner with no significant impediments. Work currently in place includes the building foundation, sanitary sewer system, slab on grade and First Floor interior masonry walls. Ongoing work includes the First Floor exterior masonry walls, First Floor tie columns/beams and in-wall electrical components. For current pictures of the Infinite Energy project, click here.
March 12th, 2007 - The renovation project with the Gainesville Police Dept. has reached the next stages of construction. The brick work on the exterior of the building is in progress, meanwhile, on the interior BBI is wrapping up the drywall installation and has begun the painting process. February 12th, 2007 - The Gainesville Police Department Administrative Services project is moving along at a steady pace. This month, BBI anticipates completing the replacement of the roof along with the installation of drywall in the interior. For current pictures of this project please visit the image gallery.
February 1st, 2007 - J.C. Dickinson Jr. Hall, home to the Florida Museum of Natural History's scientific collections and research labs, will undergo renovations to the facility's current access control system. BBI will oversee upgrades to the existing access control equipment located within the building considered to represent a signature design of renowned Floridian architect, William Morgan. Construction is scheduled for completion, May of 2007.
January 14th, 2007 - BBI and the University of Florida will begin a collective effort this February to enhance the protection of computer resources located at the Bryant Space Science Research Building, located on the University of Florida campus. The project will consist of installing impact resistant glass windows and frames on 127 existing windows in 47 openings. In association with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, the project will aid in protecting valuable computer resources from the catastrophic effect of high velocity hurricanes and associated wind borne debris. Construction is scheduled for completion, May of 2007.
January 18th, 2007 - Valued at just over six million dollars, the Infinite Energy Phase IV project involves the complete construction of a three-story office building with 30,000 square feet of air conditioned space. The building will be used to accommodate the expanding needs of Infinite Energy. Underground storm sewer systems and parking facilities are also included in the scope of the project.
